Our Secondary English students had an opportunity to discuss cultural stereotyping with other students at Ursula Franklin School in Toronto and Holy Heart SS in Newfoundland. Each of the groups presented their unique culture while dispelling many stereotypes created by the media and tourism industry. After a very engaging discussion among the groups it was realized that although there are cultural differences between the groups, there are many more similarities.
