On December 11, we went sliding. It was a snowy, cold day but we had lots of fun. We left around 2 pm and by the time we got back an hour later, it was already almost dark outside! We are into our shortest hours of daylight at this time of year. We had a great time and warmed up with hot chocolate when we were done.

Here we are all ready to go - we were very excited!

Thomas and Julius were very snowy from riding behind the ski-doo.

Sharon and Qaajui met up with Nalla on the hill - she is a very friendly dog.

Ned L. liked riding on the back of the qamutik. He was wearing kamiks.
Ned E. had a homemade wooden sled. Big or small, these sleds are called qamutiks in Nunavik.

Ned E. took a big jump - his qamutik was very fast on the hill!

Graham drove the ski-doo to the hill. Julius, Sonny Boy, and Thomas were happy after riding around the village.
Noah and Thomas - happy snowy faces mean the sliding was fun!
Julius used his plastic sled - it was fast too!
When we got back to school, we posed for one more picture around a qamutik before going in for hot chocolate.
